What a year! As 2019 exits the door, tennis fans should be delighted with the state of affairs on court.

On the men's side, the terrific trio of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic still lead the way but cracks have emerged. It's now clear that ATP Finals champ Stefanos Tsitsipas and Dominic Thiem have the games to beat them. I think one of them will break through in a major next year.

Meanwhile, the women's side is in excellent shape. Australia's Ash Barty is a fabulous no.1 given her impressive versatility. We should also be excited about the explosive talent of US Open winner Bianca Andreescu. That's not to mention Naomi Osaka, Simona Halep, Petra Kvitova and an especially determined 23-time major winner.

I was delighted to review the year with Game On's Donncha O'Callaghan and Ruby Walsh. In a bumper season, we couldn't get to everything but I tried!
