The last major of 2019 signed off with one of the matches of the season.

Daniil Medvedev tested Rafa Nadal's mettle for almost five hours before the Spaniard took the final set and made it US Open no.4. The victory puts Nadal just one grand slam behind Roger Federer's overall record of 20. Is the Swiss getting nervous?

Meanwhile on the women's side, Serena Williams is still searching for that elusive 24th singles major after Bianca Andreescu proved far too good in the final. The 19-year-old Canadian is an astonishing talent and should have more majors in her as her career progresses.
