While the play wasn't always top drawer, no one can say that Roland Garros 2021 lacked drama.
Over the course of the fortnight we had:
Naomi Osaka's unfortunate withdrawal
Petra Kvitova's freak injury
A depressing milestone for French players
Roger Federer's return and exit
A breakthrough for Lorenzo Musetti
Iga Swiatek's return to earth
Rafa Nadal beaten for only the third time and on and on
Then, on finals weekend, we saw Novak Djokovic become the first man in the Open Era to win at least two of each major title. While Barbora Krejcikova captured the singles and doubles titles.

NEWS
With the clay barely settled at Roland Garros, we are straight onto the turf.
It wouldn’t be the grass court season without Roger Federer chasing another title in Halle. The 10-time champion is in a packed draw this week along with Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev and Andrey Rublev.
Fresh from her Roland Garros disappointment, Aryna Sabalenka is top seed in Berlin this week. Other notable players in the loaded field include Elina Svitolina, Bianca Andreescu, Karolina Pliskova and Garbine Muguruza.
At Queen’s (branded Cinch Championships), there’s an interesting draw with Roland Garros semi-finalist Matteo Berrettini the top seed. He’s joined in London by Denis Shapovalov, Jannik Sinner, Aslan Karatsev and wildcard Andy Murray.
And in Birmingham, Elise Mertens is the top seed and joined by Ons Jabeur, Daria Kasatkina and Jelena Ostapenko.
Juan Martin del Potro is back training on court after a fourth right knee surgery in March. You can see some video here.
Bianca Andreescu has split with her long term coach Sylvain Bruneau. The Canadian won the 2019 US Open under his guidance.
